After the eternally unlucky Günther Kuballa (Armin Rohde) and Wolfgang Krettek (Ludger Pistor) had to give up their schnitzel stall, there's not enough money in the back and forth. While Günther dreams of making it big as a founder and marketing their popular schnitzel sandwiches far beyond Dortmund, Wolfgang has lost the courage to try something new. This changes when 15-year-old Ta (Purnima Grätz), his daughter from a repressed sperm donation, turns up at the door and demands 5,000 euros in ‘maintenance’, otherwise Wolfgang's wife will find out about her existence.
Now Wolfgang is also highly motivated to appear in the ARENA, a well-known start-up show. They have the will to win, but lack the expertise, connections and basic knowledge of the food industry to stand a chance there. But the prospect of finally proving to the world that they have what it takes to make it to the top spurs the friends on to give their best.
