Stephan Bechtle has been an executive producer and writer with Bavaria since 1987. He has produced a number of series, including "Gegen den Wind", "Die rote Meile" and "IK 1 - Touristen in Gefahr", as well as movie collections "Tatort", "Inga Lindström" and "Väter: Allein zu Haus", movies "Trenck - Zwei Herzen gegen die Krone", "Störtebeker", "Die Jahrhundertlawine", and sitcoms "Büro, Büro", "Mobbing Girls" and "Alle lieben Jimmy".
From 1981 to 1986 Stephan studied at the University of Television and Film Munich in the Department of Film and Television Films. During his studies he also worked in various roles, including unit manager, assistant to the director, reader, translator and scriptwriter. Previously he had studied Theatre Science, Art History and History in Paris, Rome and Munich. He completed his studies with Bachelor and Master degrees at the LMU in Munich.
