Ex-commissioner Ira Zach (Lavinia Wilson) and her young successor Daphne Meindl (Philine Schmölzer) form an unlikely investigative duo in Garmisch - especially because one of them is no longer allowed to investigate, and has recently started working in a DIY store. A savage wolf is causing a crisis at the border region. Countless sheep have been killed, dividing the population into wolf opponents and supporters. When the chairman of the nature conservation association is murdered and Daphne is getting nowhere with the investigation, she urgently seeks advice from Ira. Ira quickly suspects that far greater interests are hidden behind the mutilated flocks of sheep.
